Delio D’Angelo

Delio was born in the small town of Pratola in Peligna, Abruzzo. He emigrated to Canada in 1965 and started working in his trade as an Automotive Service Technician. In 1973, he co-founded Frank’s Auto Center Ltd., located just off Preston Street in Little Italy. Here he works on all aspects of the mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and components of imported and domestic vehicles.

Delio’s professional portfolio includes but is not limited to the following:

  • 2010 to present - Overbrook Bingo Charity Association (32 charities). Past President

  • 2008 to present - Preston Street BIA. Board member

  • 2005 to present - Co-founder and president of the Italian Car Club of Ottawa. Frank’s Auto Center has hosted the annual Italian car parade on Preston Street for over 25 years bringing hundreds of spectators to Preston Street.

  • 2000–2010 - Treasurer of the Centro Abruzzese Canadese Inc.

  • 1999–2010 - President of the Overbrook Bingo Charity Association (32 Charities)

  • 1998–2000 - President of Centro Abruzzese Canadese Inc.

  • 1997–2000 - Villa Marconi Long Term Health Care Center – Member of the Board of Directors, Chair of the Senior’s Group and Social Event Co-ordinator.

Delio continues to be involved in many charities and volunteers his free time in supporting cultural events in the city. He continues to provide support for the Italian Community in and around Preston Street thereby helping to maintain its Italian traditions and culture.
